Luca Cappellaro was born in Rome in 1966.
In 1993 he attended the Istituto Superiore di Fotografia in Rome, where he specialized in photojournalism and fine art black-and-white photography.
He became a professional photographer in 1995, focusing on social issues.
In 1998 he founded the Fine Art Wedding project with the aim of giving expressive depth to wedding photography, a field often diminished by a superficial use of photographic language.
He works with black-and-white film and hand-prints his silver-gelatin photographs according to the traditional darkroom method.
In 2006 he also began working digitally, producing hand-printed and hand-bound books in which the wedding reportage becomes a true visual narrative—rich in images and details and guided by an ever-unpredictable rhythm.
He alternates his work as a wedding photojournalist with contemporary art projects.
